    A bad version of “Satya”

As the tagline stated above the film can as short as describe in just two words, “Remake of Satya” but a “Bad Remake of Satya” infact a very bad remake.

Film has a very lousy script, a script which shows us all the fact about gangster, corruption, gang war, kidnapping, extortion, murder, and etc. a script which shows us that at the end bad guy wins and this corruption, gangster wins. The film is not about to clean this crap but to increase the level of all the gutters. This film is meant for all the criminals, especially for ... » read more

"Baabarr"is the movie in which violence rules the roost. Amanganj, the locale, very much paradoxical to its temperament, is meant for brutality. Baabarr is the youngest of five brothers, butchers by profession, initially display to live in relative harmony. But, an ill-feeling comes to pass with a neighbour called Pehewaan resulting the two parties at dagger's drawn. Baabarr( new comer Sohum Shah) grows up by the gun, of the gun and for the gun. His eldest brother (Shakti Kapoor) is a "don" who operates a racket from gaol. Sushant Singh, a deadpan killer, is Tabrez, who ... » read more

Violence can be ignored, watch this masterstroke.

Right from the beginning when a teenager takes us to the world of these corrupt, evil people, you’re sucked into this violent world. Plus the culmination takes you by surprise... it leaves you awe-struck.

    Performance-wise:

Mithunda is fantastic. The style this man has is untouchable.
Om Puri is first-rate as the corrupt cop.
Soham as Baabarr is very good. Playing a complex/conniving character with great understanding. He's here to stay.
    Sushant Singh is competent.
Tinnu Anand ... » read more

Fantastic cinema in 'Baabarr' made by Ashu Trikha, a brilliant film.

An outstanding effort, a film that talks about crime. It says, Crime Never Dies, It Only Changes the Faces...

Direction wise, Ashu Trikha does a brilliant job. He makes one of the most powerful films of all-time. Dialogs are brilliant as well, so is the camera-work. Music by Anand Raaj Anand is good.
'Baabarr' is indeed gory & abusive, but that's works in its favor. This film promises to be hard-hitting, and it lives up-to the mark completely.

Overall, Masterfull..... A Fantastic Film! » read more

    ''Barbaric, but not Bad''

Underworld, Cold-blooded Assassins, The dark underbelly of Uttar Pradesh – This are concepts covered umpteen number of times in Contemporary Hindi cinema. Thus, it by default becomes quite a herculean task for the makers of Baabarr to make their film something different from the usual fares in its league. So they do actually succeed in doing that ? Lets find out.

Baabarr is the story of Baabarr (Sohum Shah), a 12-year old who enters the world of crime literally by chance and doesn’t look back ever since, only to metamorphose ... » read more

    Awesome Gruesome

The unknown under–belly of UP comprising 1.2 million vote bank for the dividing politicians, where kids are groomed to get criminal expertise. It’s their daily routine, their rozi–roti after all…

Young Baabarr (Rahil) lives with his big family in Amanganj (modeled after the famous Aminabad of Lucknow) headed by Sarfaraz (Shakti Kapoor) and a handful of hot blooded brothers. In self defense, a murder is committed by Sarfaraz. He is behind bars and young Baabarr takes the gun in his hand. The proceedings change his life altogether, and ... » read more
