Baaj rating: 2 out of 10(Aditya Chakrabarty wrote on 20 Apr 2011)

Baaj is the film about a group of guys who try to set things right whenever anything goes wrong in the locality. These three guys Baaj,Bishu and Santu are the best of friends where Baaj is the leader of the group.Baaj even falls in love with a girl called Priya. Later on they fall in to the trap of a local M.L.A and their lives are destroyed .What happens next remains to be seen.

When the film has Angshuman, Sneha and Pouroush in the lead with not even any character worth mentioning being present in the film barring Mrinal Mukherjee it doesn’t say much. None of the lead actors can act and the film is terrible in every aspect be the acting, the songs, the direction , the plot etc.The film has been directed by Bahudar Chakrabarty who doubles up as the actor, the story writer, has written the screenplay and the dialogues other than having directed the film! Both the voices of the two male lead actors have been dubbed for some strange reason and that makes things worse.Sneha is a very strange looking girl and she cant act at all. How does ‘Baaj’ get his name?It seems that when he had been born, there had been a thunderstorm and lightning and that is why he is names as Baaj. The way the lady reveals this to Baaj with a completely expressionless face is worth seeing! The print is terrible and nothing much is expected out of extreme low budget films like this film.

The most important thing about this film is that Pouroush Sorcar, a magician himself and son P.C.Sorcar (Young) and the only grandson of P.C.Sorcar (Senior), makes his debut with this film though it is hardly impressive. He does show a few magical tricks of his in this film and has said that he will continue to do so in every film of his in the future as well.
