Badnaam deals with social evils like corruption, nepotism, oppression that are rampant in society today. Due to proliferations of such social evils everybody gets subjugated to a system that becomes obscure and darker than life. Mathur Ghosh, one such evil man, plans a realistic plot that will destroy Haranath’s family. Haranath commits suicide and this brings all the misfortunes into the life of Shankar, his son. Priya, the daughter of wealthy businessman falls in love with Shankar but Shankar is still pursued by the sorry fate that his father was subject to. However he musters up the courage to fight back, with the active help of Kesto, Priya's driver. In the end all mysteries are solved and the guilty are brought to book.
