Banani Choudhury was born in a village Sanatandighi of district Jossore of Bangladesh in the month of May of 1924 Maulabi Akhtaruddin Ahmed. Her name was Anwara Begam.
She passed her Higher Secondary in the year 1941 and she completed her graduation in the year 1945. She made her debut film in the film “Tapabhango” in 1947 directed by Bibhuti Das. In that film she was named Banani Choudhury.
After the Independence of Bangladesh she went back to Dhaka, but after a few days she again came back to Kolkata. She not only acted in Bengali Film but she also acted in Pakistani Films. She also acted in one English Film. She also acted in commercial stage and radio.
She was married to Janab Rajjak Choudhury. She was mother of two sons. She died in Dhaka on January 5th, 1995.
