The slum dwellers were threatened and harrassed on a regular basis by promoters to whom the slum land belonged. One day they came and raped Amina, the wife of Gofur ,a poor dweller, which prompted the Amina to commit suicide and initiated the death of their sick child. Bangalibabu attacked the rapist, the son of the , promoter and was about to kill him when Subhankar Bhattacharya comes in and hits him on the head. The injury brings back his childhood memories and he remembers that he is the nephew of promoter Rati Kanta, who killed his parents for inherinting the property.
