"Bhalo Theko" starts with 32nd birthday of Anandi (Vidya balan) daughter of an aristocratic family, residing just outside the city but not beyond the reach of the people. Raghu (Debshankar Haldar) is the elder brother of Anandi & Jhinuk. Once very good student, Raghu leaves his home for his political aspirations. Jyathomashai (Soumitra Chatterjee), the uncle of Anandi, Jhinuk and Raghu is a communist. The consumerist society does not appeal to him. He finds his own world in music. The film revolves around Anandi and her relation with nature. Her boyfriend goes abroad and marries another girl. Jhinuk (Rimjhim Gupta), the arrogant sister, ditches her boyfriend, pure and emotional Deep. Anandi takes resort to mother nature. Her mind acts and reacts like the waves of the river, only the shrill sound of a ship craacks the spontaneity, serenity and placidness of time and space. Her boyfriend returns on her birthday to set her free from the emotional bondage. Anandi, the daughter of nature, remains silent. The film ends with a symbolic reference of the immersion of Anandi in nature.
