“A Vacation Treat” Summer Vacations, Every child’s best time of the year. Mangoes, Sun, Games, Fun, etc. Kids love everything about this vacation. Parents go out with kids to picnic, outstation, malls and movies. Every thing else in this time of season is specially panned as per kids. But when it comes to movies, there were Hollywood movies to count as Bollywood never catered this audience. ‘Bhoothnath’ breaks the long due want for a vacation kids big treat, along with star value. Divs, you should write a critique... you forgot the negatives... A film which begins like a breezy kids film gets extremely slow in second half. Kids in India deserve better and a fantastic set-up like this was more than capable to give it. Alas it doesn't and the second half turns into a Baghban. All said and done this might still work at box-office as kids in India are very tolerant. They are strong and capable of enjoying 123 and T(r)ashan too. » read more

Story : Aditya's(Shahrukh) family along with his wife Anjali(Juhi) and kid Banku(Aman) comes to Goa to live in a big bungalow on rent for 1 year.Little do they know that the bungalow is famous for the spririts or bhoot pret.Banku is very naughty boy who loves playing pranks always. One night,he sees Bhoothnath(Amitabh) who tries to scare him so that he and his family leave his house. But instead Banku treats him as an angel and becomes a good buddy of Bhoothnath. The story is about the bonding both Banku and Bhoothnath share with each other and what happens when Bhoothnath's ... » read more

Shahrukh was quite good in his small role, some good funny liners by him as he played the role of a sweet father quite well but at places he looked bit low. Juhi Chawla looked very sweet and funny in the film, her acting was very good, and as always she makes you laugh with her funny laughing style. Now,the main two performers of the film. Aman was excellent from the start till the end of the film, the bonding between him and amitabh was excellent and it was very much visible,he was good in funny mischeivous scenes, his expressions worked quite much and also the emotional ... » read more

Flaws : Person who played the role of Priyanshu wife,i find her overacting a bit.The scene where shahrukh interacts with Priyanshu,i wanted something special in that scene may be some interesting dialogues there,it didnt come out that well as i had thought of that scene during the film.Film goes just slightly slow in 2nd half, screenplay could had been more tighter here. Songs : I hadnt liked the songs initially as audio but with the film songs were very much enjoyable,be it banku bhaiya or mere buddy or that jojo and banku song.Though, still music could had been ... » read more

Favourite Scenes and Dialogues : That entire scene when Aman has conversation with Bhoothnath first time in the film is excellent. The teasing of srk on sandwhiches. The entire hospital scene. All the masti of Bhoothnath when he enters Banku's school, very funny those scenes specialling lion one. The entire scene when Bhootnath tells of his past, quite emotional one. The dialogue of shahrukh to Juhi,Woh itne paranthe kha gaya ya phir tumne itne paranthe banaye and few more.Verdict : Overall, its a film that has got almost everything in it,first few minutes it ... » read more

Yes, the skeleton of the story has been taken from the 'Canterville Ghost' by Oscar Wilde, but it has been suitably garbed with a very Indian and Bollywood script. A movie which does have its emotional and rib tickling moments and good performances by seasoned (Amitabh and Juhi) as well as new actors (Aman Siddiqui - child artiste). Coming just after Tashan it comes as a bit of a breather. Yes, the movie had a few weak moments, the overtly unnecessarily bitchy and a little OTT acting of the daughter - in - law, Unnecessary songs with boring picturisation did bring ... » read more

bhootnath mostly belongs to big B but aman siddiqui the kid puts in a commendable performance.juhi chawlw is her usual sweet, charming and bubbly self while SRKs extended guest appearance is quite refreshing.the movie is good, though post-interval it gets kinda preachy.a shadow of baghban is strongly felt when priyangshu comes in as the son guilty of deserting his parents.and whoever has heard that a ghost can be hugged and actually gives you a hi-five everytime you do something commendable?also the idea of organising a shraddh for the atript atma of the bhoot gets a bit OTT. » read more

the songs are good-banku bhaiya is hummable, however the 'mere buddy' song gives you the feeling that even a ghost cherishes the desire to shake a leg with semi-clothed girls.rajpal yadav in his brief performance leaves a mark.the lady who was bhootnath's daugther-in-law seemed to be bitten by the over-acting bug.the end of the story could have been left to banku waving at bhootnath's star in the sky.though the movie is enjoyable,we do not really want a sequel(the last scene bore 'to be continued'). » read more

the scene where all sit down together foe the shraddh,SRKs little ponytail looked a bit awkward there.also juhi was too-motherly at places.her interaction with the principal wasnt realistic.also bhootnath's touching story could have been shortened.SRK looks the cool caring urban dad and at places his dialogues are witty. » read more
