Bhuban was born in a Hindu family but bought up by Muslim. Bhuban's mother died while she was giving to birth to him in the verandah of Salim. Since that day Salim was the father of Bhuban. Salim had come from Bangladesh during the days of Freedom Fights. He loved a Hindu girl Jaba. But as Salim came to India, they were separated. In India Salim took the name of Bhakti Biswas. Bhakti united the cultivators. They had a wish to make a modern rice mill for the benefit of the cultivators. But local jamindar Dayaram Dutta was against it. Dayaram's wife was in favour of Bhakti Biswas. Dayaram's daughter Disha was a friend of Bhuban. Disha when sent to Kolkata for studies, they were separated. Bhuban also went to Kolkata for his higher studies. Again Bhuban and Disha met. Disha said she still loves Bhuban. Salim, alias Bhakti met Jaba again. Jaba was the local BDO. Salim requested her to help him in establishing a modern rice mill. Jaba promised to help him. Jaba came to know how Salim bought up the orphan Bhuban. But Salim died in the fire in the granary by the goon of Dayaram. Bhuban promised to complete the dreams of Salim in establishing the rice mill. Disha wanted to help him. Bhuban initially refused as the money was of Dayaram, but Jaba insisted him to take the money. On the day of inauguration, the goons of Dayaram tried to set fire in the mill, but failed due to Bhuban. He resisted them. At last Dayaram realized his mistakes and Bhuban and Disha were reunited.
