Bhushan Kumar was born on 28th November in Mumbai. While he was in the final years of his school, his father Gulshan Kumar, who was the head honcho for T-series was assassinated and hence he had to shoulder the responsibility of running the company from a very young age.

In the music industry, Bhushan Kumar is the man who can turn stone to gold. Taking reins from his father at a young age, he has transformed his company T-series into a force to recon within the Indian Music industry. His father is the late Gulshan Kumar who devoted his life to music and was also a visionary. T-Series currently run by Bhushan Kumar is the biggest audio company in India. It is also of the oldest music company in India, opened around 1960s.

Musicwise, Partner (2007) did well. But Dhamaal (2007) and Dhol were not the hits. Out of the films that he produced Bhool Bhulaiyaa (2007) provided the twist the audiences were looking ahead for. Bhool Bhulaiyaa had a lot of funny moments. But those moments were combined with a supernatural element. This was a supernatural comedy, something never done before. Aap Kaa Surroor (2007) and even Om Shanti Om (2007) were among the top soundtracks of the year.

Other films under the production banner didn’t go down well with the audiences though they were musical hits. Tum Bin (2001), Aapko Pehle Bhi Kahi Dekha Hain (2003) & Darling (2007) are perfect example of the same. However, Humko Deewana Kar Gaye (2006) & Lucky.. No Time For Love were semi-hits and appreciated. On Thursday, 29th November'07, Bhushan Kumar launched three films with Himesh Reshammiya. Each of these films would star the actor/composer/singer in a lead role. The interesting factor about each of these three films is a strong emphasis on numerology. Bhushan Kumar wants Himesh's international fans, who don't understand Hindi language, also to enjoy his music. He has a huge fan-base abroad as well. This is why the music would have a 2 CD pack of all songs in Hindi as well as English. In fact, work is already on for the English lyrics which are especially being written to suit the mood of the songs.

In music, awaits release of Subhash Ghai’s Black and White, Rohit Jugraj’s Superstar to start off with, and in albums Pankaj Udhas’s album, Endless Love is jus released (2008) which has been directed by his wife Divya Khosla Kumar. Other than that few films are on the floor this year, namely Himesh Reshammiya’s Karzzzz and Pooja Bhatt’s Kajraare. Nagesh Kukunoor's Aashayein and 8 X 10 are also in queue.

Bhushan Kumar was awarded the Zoom Glam Award for the Music Magnate of the year. (2007)

He is a showman and his company is a brand leader. But Bhushan Kumar, a 30-year-young entrepreneur, is yet one simple soul. T- Series is at number one rank for audio CDs and cassettes, and it also works as a film distributor The wedding reception of Bhushan Kumar and Ab Tumhare Hawale Watan Saathiyon starlet Divya Khosla was the event of the season. It was a fairytale setting at the Grand Hyatt on Sunday, February 20 – orchids, jasmine covered arches, floating candles, satin sequined curtains, muslin tents, tinkling fountains. The couple married on February 13, at the Ram Temple in Vaishnodevi, Jammu and Kashmir.
