Biplab Chatterjee is an actor of great repute who is working for more than two decades in the film industry.
Biplab was born on 8th July in Kolkata. In 1962, he passed Higher Secondary from Park Institution and graduated from Anandomohan College in 1965. Other than his commitment to cinema as an actor and director, he has also has shown keen interest in the socio-political activities. In 1998, he also stood for election as a candidate from Rashbehari Constituency. In 1978, he got married and has a son.
In 1969 , he met director Satyajit Ray directly and got a break in “Protidandi”. Chera Tamsuk (1974), Joi Baba felunath (1979), Mother (1981), Chok (1983), Rakhter Swad (1993) are some of his hit films. He has mainly performed in negative roles in all his films. He was involved with amateur theatre and for some time he was associated with famous group theatre group, Bohurupi . He has also directed three films. His solo performance in “Shakunir Pasha “ has increased his fame in manifold.
