With each passing fare, We can clearly see the attempt by Bollywood to westernize itself and reach upto hollywood standards. Blue, arriving this friday, exemplifies this to the best. With a genre seldom explored in our films, Blue takes a huge risk, what with a budget of almost 100 crores and gigantic hype. does it live upto the promise made ? Yes, and No.
Blue has a very simple plot, and relies heavily on its visual aura. Thankfully, The technical crew has done a fantastic job. The camera-work is exquisite, and we also get to see some innovative shot-taking style. Resul Pokutty to makes an impression in a film where sound was so crucially integral to the plot.
However,.Blue falls short only when we com[pare the results to the hpe created in last 2 weeks. The much-toured under water sequences were too less in number to loom large over the film., although they were executed with great finesse. Also, the climax disappoints, what with a vypical hero-villain angle brought in with a cliched treatment to that.
And a lilttle more importantly, The film is not exactly as crowd-pleasing as an Akshay kumar fan would prefer. Though the actor is in great form here after 3 debacles, The film doesn't exactly keep us hooked.
but still, Its a great watch for its never-seen-before genre in our films, and technical brilliance.
Sanjay Dutt is good, so is Jayed Khan (really!). Lara Dutta just about manages to make a mark.
Final verdict :-
Watch Blue for a novel experience and Visual treat.. You will not mind it...
