Skyfall-The 23rd spy film in the most wanted James Bond series is finally on screens. In Daniel Craig's presence Casino Royale was a thunderbolt having artillery shell while Quantum of Solace was a mismatch. So,ultimately Skyfall had its overwhelming expectations.Sam Mendes takes up a challenging assignment.Fortunately
with its genre and name of Bond series,it has maximum production possible.Without any delay lets discover what Bond 007 offers us-
Great opening, some intrigue, a nice bond girl...... The story is superbly put together and has some interesting twists.
Nice flow, action sequences are stimulating ,suspense, and of course a few nice
laughs.The audience feels emotionally
endowed in the plot. It is more focused than its previous sequel Quantum of Solace that left a staleness taste. Skyfall is propelled by an authentic communicative purpose.. The fight scenes are played with highest saturation, keeping your heart going on,having that feel that this actually could happen(especially in the long opening scenes). Its a fully-loaded Bond experience.
Some of realistic scenes were extraordinary like-A gun responding to fingerprints is cool, Bond got an invisible car with weapons and rocket launchers and a strip-ring that could break glass. Most Importantly ,Skyfall becomes something more of a meaning as you progress more into the film.Climax is applaudable. On the alternate side, lacked the degree of tension to carry the quiet parts.2nd half may generate a bit of negative issues- became bit slow, leaden and verbose .The movie overall bit too lengthy (2:30 hrs),could have been edited to about 20-25 mins. However, will forget all as you leave the house with vivid impression.
Locations are overly brilliant.007 is shot at Shanghai ,Istanbul, Macau,London, and the Scottish Highlands in a elegant, crafty and in a suitable manner. Director Sam Mendes manifests one of his top directions with Skyfall. As per his previous works Revolutinonary Road was a movie only for classes with unusual theme while American Beauty was an extraordinary vison of drama that resulted in winning many oscars(The only two movies that i have seen of Sam Mendes). With Skyfall, Sam Mendes presents you a action packed sequel of Bond show.
The lead actors, especially Daniel Craig, Bardem and Dench really shines throughout. With Daniel showing his real class, its one of his supreme acts as Iconic spy.Bardem as silva and Dench as M carries the movies to greater heights.Rest of crew is also good.Javier Bardem as the villain is flamboyant and grows on us with a very absorbing backstory.A ludicrously Bond villain.Editing could have better.Roger Deakin's cinematography is crisp and clean, regretting the precarious cam act in Quantum of Solace, this time cinematography is fantabulous! The soundtracks fits in good. Background score is of quality work fitting best in gripping scenes.
Overall,Bond 007(Skyfall)is all in all a classical Bond , mixed well with the twenty-first century. It is definitely a bounce back from the previous movies .Watch it for Best of Bond performances. Its surely a 100% watch.Defy the mixed patterns from the audiences and reviewers, have a go.Skyfall combines the elements of the classic Bond films with all the 21st period styled ingredients.Bond you rocked man!
