Boney Kapoor is a Hindi film producer. He is the son of Surinder Kapoor, who is also a film producer and has been secretary to famous yesteryear filmstar Shammi Kapoor. His brothers Anil Kapoor and Sanjay Kapoor are also famous hindi film stars.

Boney Kapoor has tasted enormous success and bitter failure too which is clearly visible on his career graph. In 1981, Hum Paanch became a Silver Jubilee hit. Woh Saat Din (1983) was a critically acclaimed and a modest successful movie. Although Anil Kapoor had been on the scene since 1979, all that came his way were the odd minor parts. Finally it was the older brother, Boney Kapoor, who produced Woh Saat Din and casted Anil as a simple, small-town musician. The film clicked, and, at last, Anil Kapoor realized his dream of becoming a star.

Mr India (1987) was a Mega Blockbuster but Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993) failed to revive the magic. Prem (1995) featuring his youngest brother Sanjay Kapoor flopped badly whereas Loafer (1996) was only semi hit. February 2000 saw the release of Pukar was the story of hero who rose above personal trauma to save the integrity of his country. In August 2000, released Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hain directed by Satish Kaushik and starring Anil Kapoor, Aishwarya Rai and Sonali Bendre. And January 2002 launched Esha Deol, in a film Koi Mere Dil Se Puche directed by Vinay Shukla. The film included Jaya Bachchan, Aftab Shivdasani and Sanjay Kapoor in a negativee role. It flopped however. Boney Kapoor produced many films after Koi Mere Dil Se Pooche, most of which like Shakti: The Power (2002), Khushi (2003), Kyon Ho Gaya Na (2004) and Bewafaa (2005) failed to click with the audience. Company 9co-production with Ram Gopal Varma) did just average business. Boney Kapoor broke the jinx with No Entry (2005) directed by Anees Bazmee. The film was a super-hit and Boney made up for all his losses. Boney Kapoor himself featured as guest appearance in his latest film Halla Bol (2008).

His forthcoming movies are Wanted -Dead Or Alive which is expected to be released in 2008, which is being directed by Prabhu Deva and is a remake of the south hit Pokkiri. His other film Milenge Milenge starring Shahid Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor is, however, stuck.

He is on the governing council of Asian Academy of film and television film city Noida which conducts short term and long term film courses. He was earlier married to Mona Kapoor (daughter of producer Sattee Shourie) and has 3 children with her. He has two daughters, with second wife Sridevi whom he married on 2 June 1996, named after characters in his films. The eldest is named Jhanvi after the heroine in Judaai (1997), and the second is named Khushi after the heroine in Hamara Dil Aapke Paas Hai (2000). He has produced many films for his brothers. His sister Reena is married to Sandeep Marwah of the Marwah Films & Video studios at Noida Film City, Noida.
