  • Bride Wars rating: 5 out of 10(Aakash Barvalia wrote on 13 Jun 2009)

Director Gary Winick has showed us very sweet film about two friends, how they love each other and how they hate each other. You know something guys, when I started watching this film, I felt very bored but later on when the film was about to complete, something sweet feeling was coming inside from me, and I felt that, the film not that bad. Although Greg DePaul, the screenplay and the story writer and the Director of the movie Gary Winick of the movie tried hard to entertain the audience but succeeded averagely.

Bride Wars is the story about two best childhood friends Liv (Kate Hudson) and Emma (Anne Hathaway) who together dreamed about their man in life who would stand by their side no matter what ups and downs happening in life. When the two girls became ladies they had actually found their man in life. Now one fine day both the man had proposed their ladies for getting married. They both Liv and Emma went to a wedding organizer who organizes wedding from top to bottom including their wedding dates to actually fix some date of their respective wedding. Now the dates came as 6th of June and 27th of June. Since from the child only Liv was having a No.1 attitude i.e. having all the things first before somebody could have. And Emma was having an attitude of giving (good lesson). Liv had chosen 6th of June because she wants to get marry first, Emma said Ok; I will marry on 27th of June. Both the friends were so much happy unless one day the wedding organizer informed them that due to some confusion your both the wedding dates came on the same date, so either both get married on the same date or else the if one is sacrificing then the next date will get after 3yrs from now as the 27th of June is already been given to someone else. Now the big question was there that who will sacrifice. You guys know Liv’s attitude so forget about her. But now Emma decided to not to sacrifice as she felt that it’s her wedding and she deserves that wedding day. From here the war between Brides has started. Both the best friends started hating each other more than their worst enemies. Both the Brides were trying their best, playing tricks and games, that somehow the other one’s wedding should get cancel. And there’s a rule in war, one have to win and one have to lose. Both Liv and Emma were best of friends but now are worst than enemies, one of them loses and she broke up with her fiancé, and that girl is none other than “Emma”. She always believes in giving and this time also destiny had chosen for her to give, to give away her wedding day to her best friend. I just loved the last scene, very emotional and very touchy. Emma’s man didn’t stood by her side no matter whatever was going in her life and that’s why she got broke up in her wedding day itself. But as we describe here the war rules, the film and as well as the life rule says that it should be a happy ending after all, otherwise it’s not an end yet. Liv’s brother who also a childhood friend of Emma and was always loving her secretly and was always by her side no matter what. But he never showed anything to Emma about his feelings (good lesson). But as we say love is no open secret, Emma finally realized who actually her man in her life is and got married with her best friend’s brother. Happy ending...Not yet! The tagline shows one year later, the two best friends meet up at the restaurant and guess what, they both are pregnant and they both said in one breathe “March 3rd? Deliveries date?” The war is not yet over guys!
Good film. If you get time then do watch it. Good story but Ok direction Ok screenplay. Overall an Ok type to watch.

    My rate would be: 2.5/5
