Why do all movies of the week have to be Rock On? Some can be C Kkompany. The movie is about three losers who have not been successful in their personal and professional lives. Akshay Kumar (Tusshar Kapur) is action-hero by name, but is known for inaction or no action, who is in love with a Don's sister (Raima), but doesn't have the money to elope with her to Dubai. Mr. Joshi (Anupam Kher), a retired accountant is ill-treated by his son and daughter-in-law and wants to settle his accounts with his son by getting back the money spent on raising him. Lambodar (Rajpal Yadav) is a short man, whose wife and son are embarrassed due to his short height and make his life difficult at home. To help their causes, they assume identity of an underworld gang, named C Company. What begins with harmless phone calls to help friends and people they know, turns serious, when they lock horns with the ruling underworld Don, Datu Satellite, who also happens to be in love with K serials, playing on K TV. Even Ekta makes a guest appearance. Better to make fun of yourselves, than others doing it. She seems to have taken it seriously. Most of the film funny moments are related to Balaji's K serials and their non-existing story line, protagonists who never age, reincarnation and slow progress. Don Datu Satellite, who faces threat from the upstart C Company tries to resolve issues by taking control, but is bowled over by the purity of purpose of the threesome and decides to turn a new leaf in his life. A happy ending, as expected.
Acting by the threesome and the other cast (Mithun and Raima) is good in terms of opportunity provided...and circumstances. Music is average and the Celina item number was just not required. Looks and feels like a low-budget movie. No deceptions here.
Don't expect too much, and follow the audience with the funny moments, and you will find a smile on your face when you leave the theatre, but don't expect it to stay with you...for long. Watch it, enjoy it, forget it.
