NO SHINY EFFECT
Kabir Kaushik’s last film Sehar was based was based on U. P mafia operations
and was brilliantly made. But since it wasn’t publicized well before its release, it didn’t work at the box office. With Chamku, he comes back to tell the tale of a naxalite….does he succeed, lets find out..
Chamku' is the story of chamku [bobby] who survives death in childhood
but looses his father to the hands of thakur. He is resuced by baba
[danny] who is the chief of a naxalite organization.Baba trains chamku to be his top
guy. In a cop operation Baba and his team gets assaisinated, but chamku
survives. He is approached by Kapoor [irfaan], who works for the intelligence department. Kapoor wants chamku to join their special team which eliminates evil activists. Chamku joins them and goes for a whole new different path, only to find that there is no return back home.
The Basic Story concept is good but it is badly executed. Screenplay is weak and
keeps loosing the grip at times. The romantic angle between Bobby & Priyanka does not connect with the film at all. Camera work, too is average and irritating at regular intervals ( due to the black out effects).
After Saawariya, much was expected from Monty Sharma, but he fails to deliver. The music does not gel with the film at all.
Kabir Kaushik’s direction is weak, where he has taken a lot of cinematic liberties and we find many loopholes in the story. It seemed more of direction by the Deol’s camp rather than Kabeer’s. He fails to highlight the motive behind the movie.
Bobby deol looked bad and Chubby. He hardly has anything to offer. But
on a positive note was better than his usual melodrama. Priyanka looked
good, but her role was bad. Irfan fails to impress. Danny and Ritesh's
cameo was good. Arya babber and Rajpal Yadav were wasted.
So Bol meri Filmi Khopdi is film mein kitna hain dum ??
Kutch khaas dum nahin hain..,
You can say that the director and the actor too have lost their shiny touch in this film.
