My Rating

  • Filmy Chance with No Dance!

Chance Pe Dance rating: 5 out of 10(Aakash Barvalia wrote on 18 Jan 2010)

Ken Ghosh, the director of the film, who has given us a film like “Ishq Vishk”, a super hit; but also has given us a flop film like “Fida” though was highly glamorized. His third film as “Chance pe Dance” starring Genelia and Shahid, rated again as the same for “Fida” 2-3stars.

Though in the current coming months, our Indian Cinema has jumped quite high by giving many good films with new stories and new concept. So for all those films who have filmy stories, which we may have seen or heard many a times in our lifetime, might have some big reason to worry to their film makers. Whether it would “Dulha Mil Gaya” with SRK in it, or a Yash Raj banner with “Pyaar Impossible”, or the recent one “CPD” starring Shahid and Genelia; all of these films have the same, typical, kind of stories presented in a very stylish manner. But what’s important is the story after all.
Let’s discuss some plus points and minus points of the film.

    Minus points:
    1. Very filmy, unreal and lousy screenplay.

    2. And no dance thing in any part of the film.

Watch out the scene where Shahid dance in a disc and he is selected for the lead role by the famous director. How I wish that somebody would see me in Ganpati Visarjan.

Watch out that scene where Shahid agrees to do the film without signing a contract. Ahh he must have come from mars.

Watch out how Shahid teaches dance to the school students and how they win. I think it looks like this part of the script was written by somebody who has not slept for atleast 8 days and has written the screenplay by doing his yawning session.
Watch out the scene where Shahid gives his final audition and he is given a script to act. He didn’t follow the script but after everything was over, everybody was just clapping and applauding him. Wow what a scene! But hello! Where was the act?? He was just sharing his past life memories!

    Plus points:
    1. Very sweet and cute chemistry between Shahid and Genelia.

    2. Shahid’s superstar performance and a Rockstar dance. (Emotional scene at school where he cries is my favorite)

    3. For Genelia – That she is growing.

    4. Some filmy scenes to watch for audiences, but unless only if they are hard-core filmy lover.

    Final Verdict:
So by analyzing the plus points and the minus points, the film is watchable for the die-hard fans of Shahid, for Genelia that she is growing, and for all those filmy lovers who loves to watch filmy stories anytime.
Not that bad to watch it for once, but only at Home-Theatre!

    2.5 / 5
