Sanaka, wife of Chand secretly worships goddess Manasha. Sunanda her maid hides the picture of Manasha behind the image of the deity. Finding the picture of Manasha right behind that of the deity, Chand gets very angry and breaks it to pieces. H goes away on a business trip during which time his son takes care of Sanaka. Chand loses all his business in the sea and spends his days as a porter in a port. Twenty years pass by. Chands friend Sai Sadagar comes wih his wife Amala and daughter Behula to a fair in Chands town and Chands son, Lakhinder falls in love with Behula. Chand returns to his village and arranges the wedding of Lakhinder and Behula. An astrologer had once told that Lakhindar that he might die by a snake bite on his wedding night. So Chand arranged for an iron nuptial chamber, but in spite of that he could not save his sons life and he was bitten by a snake. There was a hole in the iron chamber. Taking the dead body of her husband on a raft, Behula floated over a river for 6months. Manasha then asked Behula to convince her father in law to worship her. Only then will her husband come back to life. Chand wonders how it was possible to worship Manasha with the same hand by which he worships his own god. Manasha asks him to worship her by his left hand. Chand holds a lotus in his left hand and places it at the feet of Manasha and then Lakhindar is alive again.
