An old pedestrian was lying on the roadside. Nayika seeing this rushed to the old man and shouted for help. Hearing the shout of Nayika the mad man called Bhattacharya, a village youth, responded. They all together brought back the sense of the old man. Nayika offered a shelter to the old man in her own house. The local Zamindar was a debauch. Nayika was his target. One day, when the Zamindar approached towards Nayika, he was beaten by the neighbours. The Zamindar’s brother-in-law was also like him. The brother-in-law while proposing the landlady of Nayika he was heavily insulted. One day the mad man went inside Zamindar’s house and stole all the gold ornaments of Zamindar’s wife. Coming back from Zamindar’s house the mad man handed over all the gold ornaments to the old man. The old man proposed Bhattacharya to marry Nayika. Suddenly it was revealed that old man was the real Zamindar of this place. Nayika was his daughter and the mad man was his secretary. Coming to know all this the Zamindar and his brother-in-law came with some goons to the marriage place. But the villagers resisted their attack. While returning the brother-in-law stabbed and killed Bhattacharya. So Nayika remained as ever-unmarried, a Chirakumari.
