    Salute to Revolution

Chittagong rating: 8 out of 10

This is 2012, and we are almost at the fag end of it. It is of huge appreciation the way Indian cinema have rose to a crescendo, the west could well be envy of. The latest in the serving being Chittagong – a riveting document of the revolutionary rise, fall and foundation in the erstwhile undivided India. History would always be anecdotal in its narration often by-passing the true intellect, spirit and vividness of a time which remain valid merely as a few dates and years.

The fact that each and every generation has it’s own hunger stemming from the created and ... » read more

    Just like the Revolution….

Chittagong rating: 5 out of 10

Around 2 years ago, we witnessed a rare chapter from our Independence Struggle with Ashutosh Gowarikar’s ‘Khelein Hum Jee Jaan Sey’, which portrayed the revolution of Chittagong. Now, a small banner film ‘Chittagong’ releases with bunch of talented actors ... » read more

Chittagong (Rated 3/5): A group of schoolboys and young women dare to take on the British empire.

It is based on the saga of 1930's and has a heavy subject but the way story has been conducted is really appreciable

Camerawork is brilliant; story takes time to set but gradually becomes interesting. Definite watch! » read more

Film: Chittagong; Cast: Manoj Bajpayee, Nawazuddin Siddiqui, Rajumar Yadav, Jaideep Ahlawat and Delzad Hiwale; Director: Bedabrata Pain; Rating: ****

Right away, Chittagong, taking its title from that scenic lush-green spot now in Bangladesh, where a band of brave boys took on the British Raj and gave it a run for its money, must be praised for taking a slice of relatively-unknown history (not counting Ashutosh Gowariker's poorly-received film on the same story) and turning it into an engaging authentic cinema that dares to venture into a genre, which died a rather quick death after Gowariker's pseudo-historical "Lagaan".

Chittagong is the real thing. Bravely bonafide and not afraid to show a humane side to the Britishers without taking away from the heroism of the freedom fighters, the film packs» Read full review
