At one point in time you would get so confused that you might even start thinking if Diana and Deepika love each-other or what? Thank god for Saif, else it could have been a different kind of love story! :)
In short: Gautam (Saif) loves Meera (Diana), Meera is married to Kunal (Randeep Hooda) still loves Gautam, Veronica (Deepika) loves Gautam.
At one time you will also be forced to believe (almost) Randeep is gay! Beautiful story writing, God damn it! :) You can anyways watch him sizzle with Sunny Leone in Jism2. And no, Sunny Le-One is no sister of Ra-One.
Back to Cocktail: Believe me, the movie was toooo loooong. It was not really needed to be that long. The essence was good enough for a 1.5 hours, max. With the awesome songs that this movie has, a shorter version, which meant a very fast paced turn of unexpected events would have been the perfect mix.
Diana Penty is the new 'found' and she is on twitter (men first fell for her in this Virgin Mobile Ad) and is the best thing in this cocktail. She is cute, pretty, can act better than Deepika and does not look manly (thank god for that). But guess the role itself went in her favor. With what Deepika was expected to do (drunk-ed rich ass girl), what her role deserved, she did not do bad. Her bikini was cute! :)
London was good and Cape Town, South Africa was awesome. The 'iss duniya ki main ho hi nahin' song is well made (good cinematography). The climax was so predictable. Remember Love Aaj Kal? Take the clue.
The scene where Gautam confesses his love in front of Meera and Veronica is worth the watch. Also, do not miss some good acting by Boman Irani and Dimple Kapadia.
At some point in time this movie might look like a hindi remake of Vicky Cristina Barcelona, am not saying anything. You judge.
Do not leave when the credit rolls. An awesome song - 'Second hand jawani' plays AND behind the scenes from the movie, plays in-between. Look out for Saif the frog!
Verdict: 3/5 [0.5 extra for Diana Penty]
