Do you believe in reincarnations? If you do then ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ is just for you. The movie deals with our age old stories of reincarnations, past life and so on.
‘Dangerous Ishhq’ marks the second innings of talented Karisma Kapoor in Bollywood. It’s a horror cum love story. Sanjana and Rohan are in love with each other. Sanjana is a supermodel while Rohan is a son of a business tycoon. They are the most famous couple in the social circle but unfortunately Rohan gets kidnapped and things take a turn in Sanjana’s life. It stars Karisma Kapoor and Rajneesh Duggal and is directed by Vikram Bhatt.
Lets have a look at the trailer and the music of the film.
Trailer Analysis: Trailer of the movie generates curiosity. Although things like past life and reincarnations are seldom believed today but still, the trailer manages to hold its position firmly and doesn’t seem out of place or outdated. It has a great suspense value as well.
Music album of ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ is not excellent but it does manage to strike some chords. The songs are romantic and hardly depict that they are from a horror movie. Fair job has been done on the album.
‘Tu Hi Rab Tu Hi Dua…’ The lyrics of this song are enough to note that it’s a totally romantic number. Sung by Rahet Fateh Ali Khan and Tulsi Kumar, this song grows on you gradually. The music of the song is good. Blend of Rahet Fateh Ali Khan and Tulsi Kumar somehow does not work here. Tutsi’s voice seems to sharp here. It will stay for some time.
‘Naina Re….’ The song is beautifully sung by Shreya Ghoshal , Rahet Ftaeh Ali Khan and Himesh Reshamiya. These three voices are blended so beautifully that none of them seem to be out of place. Naina Re is an emotional song that describes the pain and sadness in it. It will surely make a mark.
‘Ishhq Mein Ruswa Ruswa Hoke Chale…..’ is a good song. It’s beautifully sung by a fresh singer Anweshaa. The tabla sound suits well on the song. Lyrics are not that impressive but the music manages to gather attention. The pace of the song keeps changing from slow to fast and then again slow. It has a slight qawwaali feeling to it.
‘Umeed…. ‘ is a treat for Himesh Reshamiya’s fans. It has good beats and will be played more in parties and discos. Amrita Kak and Sahab Sabri have done justice to the song.
‘Lagan Lagi More Piya…’ The song qualifies to be good song but it’s too romantic to be in a horror film like ‘Dangerous Ishhq’. The song is beautifully sung by Shreya Ghoshal & Shahab Sabri. It’s more of a desi style song. It’s a decent take on romance.
Now after having a look at the music album and trailer, what do you think? Will the movie make a mark? Will it be able to establish Karisma again in the industry? Or will it just pass by?
Well I think, the box office future of the film is little subjective. These kinds of films are either liked by plenty or none. Moreover the topic it deals with may not appeal to many. The film doesn’t even have any famous actor except Karisma (who is again not in the current top list). The chances of a box office success are fifty fifty here.
‘Dangerous Ishhq’ can be risky affair for two reasons: Firstly ‘Ishaqzaade’ is releasing simultaneously and is already buzzing around. Secondly Lack of a current big star, its not that movies don’t work without big stars but then the content has to be appealing. Vicky Donor is the live example. Only time will tell whether the content of the film is appealing or not!
But we should not forget that Karisma was a huge star once and thus may have a loyal and huge fan following. Never know her stardom may work in her favour! ‘Dangerous Ishhq’ is in the middle of the two sides of the coin. Let’s see on which side it falls.
