Darling, a love story featuring newcomer Mayukh and Pamela is full of love, romance, comedy and action. The film goes back a few decades when four college mates remain close even though they do not meet for years. Surjo is the son of one of them and Diya is the daughter of another one of them. The friends organize a reunion where Surjo and Diya meet each other after years and even fall in love. Eventually they do get together , but only after overcoming certain obstacles.
The film somehow manages to maintain an interest level mainly because of the plot. While the film initially is about the friendship between the four friends, later, about Suryo and his friends and how they manage to tackle certain situations, the latter part really features a whole of things. While the friendship of the friends becomes one of the high points of the film, what also needs to be seen is how Suryo balances his two girlfriends in the film. Wondering how he has two girlfriends? Well, he actually has one , his childhood love called Diya and an imaginary girlfriend whom he creates just to come out of a sticky situation. While the imaginary one is played by Pamela, the actual girlfriend is played by newcomer Aishwariya(incidentally a new trend has started in Tollywood with actresses changing their names to get a new identity and the trend has started with actresses who were formerly called Priyanka, Aishwariya whose actual name is Priyanka Ghosh has appeared in ‘Best Friends’ earlier). She however seems to be a little better than Pamela in this film. Mayookh as Suryjo has done a decent job in his first film, but what spoils the film is it’s duration as it seems to be never ending. Also in the second half the film has way too many sub plots which which becomes a bit too much. The story isn’t that bad at all, it is just that it is way too long, had it been a little shorter, it would been better.
