IT"S PRITAM TIME YET AGAIN!
The album is a typical Pritam album once again! If one tunes in to the album without knowing the identity of the music director, one has to hear only the 1st song to know with certainty that it is but of course our very own Pritam da!
Having said that, the first is indeed quite beautiful - 'Rishte Naate' sung by the seasoned Rahat backing him with the Eng rap vocals is Suzzane D'Mello. Has the potential to become a favourite with the RJs on the radio channels.
'Paisa' - is the quintessential Punjabi number in a Pritam album! A different song, specially when one connects it with the visuals being promoted on TV. But not much joy as far as pure listening pleasure goes, the voice of Manak - E does grate on one's nerves after a while.
'Gale Lag Ja' - is the seductive crooner set to the strumming of strings - both accoustic and electric. Javed Ali is good as ever and Banjyotsna (Erstwhile Sa Re Ga Ma finalist) does a good job too though she does need to work a bit on her pronounciations.
'Baamulaiza' - is the peppy calypso number, carnivalish in spirit which immediately takes one to Peter Andre's 'Mysterious Girl' kind of music. With Bongo, trumpets and sung with a lot of Joie De Vivre by Dominique Cerejo, Style Bhai and Mika, a good one to groove on. Won't be surprised if this one becomes a hit soon!
'Hotty Naughty' by Sunidhi is a fast paced tongue in cheek item number song in her unmistakable style.
The title track 'De Dana Dan' is adequate for the film. Set to the Dhol it is an average listen!
So Pritam comes up once again with a bouquet that has every kind of flower in it! Pick and choose the one you like! But will the bouquet work in totality? Let's wait and watch - but given his phenomenal strike rate won't be surprised if Pritam strikes lucky yet again!
