Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen hail from a musically illustrious family in Sujangarh in rural Rajasthan where their ancestors have been into music and dance for centuries. Dilip Sen is the brother of Shambhu Sen (who is famous in the field of both dance and music) While Sameer Sen is Shambhu's brother. Together they formed the duo called Dilip Sen - Sameer Sen.
Their maiden movie as music directors was Jagdeep's production called Soorma Bhopali (1988).
The Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen duo is most famous for their musical score in the film Aaina (‘Goriya re goriya re...’) and Yeh Dillagi (‘Ole ole...’) in the early ’90s, under the Yashraj banner. Their other successful scores include Meherbaan (1993), Kartavya and Haqeeqat (1995), Ziddi (1997) , Aflatoon (1997) and Arjun Pandit (1999).
The duo parted ways a few years later, as they said that their temperaments were different. After a brief rejoinder they finally separated ways for good. While Dilip Sen is operating alone under the old established name of Dilip Sen-Sameer Sen, Sameer and his brothers , Lalit and Sanjeev have joined hands to form a trio. They call themselves Sen Bros.
