Don’t Stop..let it flow…..
In 90’s whenever a David Dhawan film use to hit the big screen people use to rush to nearby cinema house to see it and if it was David Dhawan-Govinda film they use to flock the cinemas. One after one almost all super hits. But slowly the quality faded down and both started hitting their low in individual career, till few years back they banged back with Partner which reminded of the same old days. And in same tradition to continue the magic they come back again with their favorite producer Vashu Bhagnani in Do Knot Disturb. Let’s find out will the magic of these No.1 Entertainers work? Let’s find out.
“Do Knot Disturb” is story of Raj [Govinda] who is an henpecked husband of Kiran [Sushmita Sen] who is an multi millionaire. Raj also loves to stray around with Dolly [Lara Dutta] who is an item girl dancer. Problem starts when Kiran gets a picture featuring Raj and Dolly and she starts to suspect a foul play. Raj passes the blame on Gowardhan [Ritesh Deshmukh] who accidently lands in the photo. Raj Approaches Gowardhan and convinces him to help him and be Dolly’s Lover. Gowardhan agrees on a big price and also as he is big fan of Dolly. Kiran still has her doubts, so she approaches a private detective [Ranvir Shourie] to spy on Raj,Dolly and Gowardhan. Thus starting the joyful ride of confusions and blunders.
Story is a bhelpuri of many films like Mujhe meri biwi se bachao, Aaj ki taaza khabar and few more. But thanks to the screenplay and crisp dialogs the bhelpuri tastes chatpatta and entertaining. Almost all Scenes featuring Ritesh and Govinda are superb especially the bargaining scene, the bathroom scene and few more like Manoj Puni as Spy, Ranvir’s Jhon Mathew track, etc etc. Though the film is around two hours still in second half the film stretches a bit and thus a bit of editing was required out here. But till the time you start worrying next scene is there to entertain you.
Music is good and foot tapping. Bebo, and are enjoyable. Background score is perfect with the mood of the film.
David Dhawan’s films lack logic and we all know that, thus we can accept Dubai as Delhi and many more such cinematic liberties in this film. But then we do expect some good comedy in his film and in this one he fulfills the expectation. He has handled the kiosk in second half very well and not like other few comedy copy cats who have messed many films in such situation. We still wish to see more fire from this entertainer.
Govinda rocks when it comes to such films, his small inputs are the best in the film. Check out the way he talks in female voice when in tension, the way he calls Lara – dolly dolly and many such superb scenes. He is supported by Ritesh Deshmukh who has excelled in his comedy and gives perfect support to Govinda. Lara Dutta looks fabulous and sexy; she has played her role of a bimbo perfectly. Sushmita Sen was not looking nice and was looking bit fat in few scenes. Rajpal Yadav and Ranvir Shourie have added more fun to the film. Sohal Khan is ok and does his part without hamming. Rest all are fine except Himani Shivpuri who was bit loud.
So bol meri “Filmi Khopdi” is film mein kitna hain dum ?
Dum hain full time pass masala entertainer hain. Leave your brains aside and go out to cinema screen and enjoy the joyful ride where you will wish for it not to stop..and just go on and on..
