Dolon Roy was born in Kolkata on February 22nd. Her father’s name was Dilip Roy and mother’s name was Dipika Roy.
She passed Higher Secondary Examination from Jadavpur Girls High School. Then she passed her B.Sc. Examinaion from Charuchandra College and M.SC from Calcutta University. She made her debut film in “Sajani Go Sajani” directed by Tarun Majumdar. She acted in films like “Ruaban”, “Apan Par”, “Arjun”, “Kaka Babu”, “Here Gelam” etc.
She received National Award for her performance in the film “Sanghat” in 1997 directed by Pinaki Choudhury. She used to act in Radio Drama from her childhood. Apart from her acting in films she keeps herself busy in open air theatre, commercaial stage and television serials. In 1997 she went to United States to perform in drama “Kella Fatey” directed by Dulal Lahiri. She is not married.
