Achaa achaa…matlab they are acting as a gay!!!
Hats Off! To Abhishek and John.
Although the theme of the film is quite similar to one of the Hollywood film which I had seen some months back “I Now Pronounce You Chuck and Larry”, an Adam Sandler and Jessica Biel film. But the very important part here is that the script and the story is a far more different.
The theme was that the two great friends who are absolutely “NORMAL” but pretend to be gay for some reason. Similarly Abhishek and John are great friends with each other pretend to be gay for some reason.
The reason was that the both of them want an apartment for a rent and for to secure that apartment they pretended to be gay in front of the land lady (Sushmita Mukherjee) who actually don’t give her apartment for rent to any young boys because of his young, sweet and sexy niece Neha, that is Priyanka Chopra.
Over a period of time, John, Abhishek and Priyanka become buddies. But when Priyanka's boss Abhimanyu, that is Bobby Deol enters the fray as the third contender for her affections, the film gets even hotter…
DOSTANA is a mind blowing comedy with some double meaning humour. Although the subject of DOSTANA is a very controversial but it brings homosexuality out of the closet in a very beautiful way. The film gives time to the audience to open up their mind in this topic which overall gives it respect and dignity and doesn't treat gays as 'abnormal'.
Surely, DOSTANA had given us an ample of shock-treatment for his subject by the promos and the way it was been publicized. But more than a shock-treatment, the film offers loads of fun-n-laughter and a dozens of extra dose of a purely entertainment till there is a fade out of his last frame.
Karan Johar, the producer, deserves a huge round of applause as it requires a powerful courage to make a film like DOSTANA.
Tarun Mansukhani, the debutante director, deserves an appreciate for his tremendous work which actually no one can tell that it’s his first film.
It also requires a tremendous courage for the two A-Grade actors for risking their professional lives at this point of time. Abhishek and John deserve a standing applause for not only signing these kinds of roles, but also given a fabulous effort, without making any contempt of the gay community.
The film gives us a hilarious comedy where we can’t miss to watch when Abhishek cooks up his romantic story between John in Venice, Boman Irani's interaction with Abhishek and John created an extra spicy masala in the menu and Kirron Kher’s dramatic entry when she learns that her son [Abhishek] is a gay and much later, when she accepts John as family.
First hour is a full of sizzling chemistry and crackling humour between the two heroes but things get serious towards the second half when there's an entry of more person, yes its none other than Mr. Bobby Deol as the boss of Priyanka Chopra. Now the part can be described as seriously humoured as the focus is mainly on who would get Priyanka in the end.
Music goes well with the mood of the film. Vishal-Shekhar's has done a remarkable job!
Both Abhishek and John are fantabulous! Hats Off for these two guys!
Girls will be dragged over John’s amazing physique and Guys will get cold after watching Priyanka in her Hot! Golden Bikini.
On the whole, two Thumbs Up! for DOSTANA.
