I don't want to comment on how prudent it is to trivialize serious issues, such as gay relationships. So my review deliberately avoids that. However, one needs to watch this monstrosity to understand how pathetic the thinking patterns of these film makers are. Dostana falls flat as a comedy, and fails even as a serious comment on friendship. Come on, these characters are all adults, yet they behaved as if they have just come out of some mushy romance. Anyway, I know I shouldn't have expected any mature stuff from today's Dharma productions and Yashraj films. Now about the performances: Abhishek Bachchan tries hard to salvage the film, and he is the only good thing about Dostana. John Abraham has that single expression from scene one to scene last: how does he keep getting films? Seriously needs acting classes. And the very skimpily clad Priyanka Chopra is irritating, to say the least. I may need to watch Fashion to change my views about her. And will someone ask Kiron Kher to stop acting (overacting) for a while, take rest, and return refreshed? The music of Dostana was as expected: most of the songs sounded similar, and you won't remember any very soon.
