I don't want to comment on how prudent it is to trivialize serious issues, such as gay relationships. So my review deliberately avoids that. However, one needs to watch this monstrosity to understand how pathetic the thinking patterns of these film makers are. Dostana falls flat as a comedy, and fails even as a serious comment on friendship. Come on, these characters are all adults, yet they behaved as if they have just come out of some mushy romance. Dostana is an album which offers a varied listening opportunity. It has some good numbers as well. 'Desi Girl' is the quintessential foot tapping number which finds its way into most Vishal Shekhar albums. The pace of the song does remind one of their recent 'Suno Ik Thi Kaanch Ki Gudiya' from Bachna Ae Haseeno'. 'Ma Da Laadla' is the cool, tongue in cheek Gen.
