Many summers has gone by since Dudul arrived in Mumbai a decade ago chasing a dream to become a Music Director in films of Bollywood.
Thereon, began the journey: a journey of a 'small-town boy' who had in him mammoth dreams to fulfill. A dream envisioned within the spells of his creative acumen, which he foresaw within imaginations well in advance.
Thus, bearing in mind a compilation of creative thought envisioned by the heart, the music inside him began to 'fine tune' the myriad spectrums of melodies, which had been reverberating within him. Consequently his steps towards the underlying alacrity of perfection made its way into the epicenter of the tinsel world.
He took his effective strides- step by step.
THE FIRST SIX STRINGS
Way back in the nineties when Dudul was quite young he took his strides towards creating music when his father bought him a small CASIO keyboard to play with.
However, at that time they too might not have thought about, how well this small gift of theirs will spur the mind of the little one to produce zillions of musical notes that has already been realized within him.
He started creating music of his own since than.
'Self taught' as he often says, Dudul first started playing keyboards at an early age within his locality gradually spreading through the corners of Jorhat, a culturally rich town in Assam.
However, as a 'quick learner', as he always is, his enthusiastic learning process of music by collecting bits and pieces of experiences gathered through his observant mind; through a matured understanding towards electronic music production at a tender age of eleven; was but, spotted by many a lot who poured in with offers to perform at stage shows throughout Assam.
Later, Dudul graduated from shows to electronic music programming and composing which has been an added advantage till today in creating his own type of Music.
Initially in Mumbai, Alaap started his career as a music programmer and composer by the name of Dudul Saikia through various assignments from Music Director like Raju Singh thereby, working for him as an assistant composer and arranger for various TV serials and music albums.
However, Dudul who became known among the music circle as Dudul decided to take on the new stride as Alaap Dudul in his new avtar as a Music Director.
Pop music albums like 'Chandni Raat' and 'Yuhi Kabhi Mila Karo' which was released by Merica Thakral Co., were some of his early creations where he was credited as Dudul. Later he worked with Music Director Pritam for almost four years by way of arranging music for various jingles and songs. He had even worked as an arranger for Music Director Anand Raj Anand and Rajesh Roshan.
On the other hand, Dudul's associations with Remixes are also noteworthy. He proved his skills in arranging and programming music for hit re-mixes like 'Haadsa'& 'Piya Gayen Rangoon' for Universal Music and 'Bollywood Ishq' for Times Music. In addition to this, he had also created his own remixes through-'Ek Chattur Naar' for HMV, 'Pyar Karne Wale Shaan Se' for Venus, including 'Hari Om Hari'.
Dudul has also arranged and programmed music for various TV commercials.
Apart from these, Dudul has also created and composed music for more than 20 Audio Albums in Assamese and other regional languages.
Lately, he is arranging and programming music for Music Director Annu Malik and Adesh Srivasta. His list of recent releases includes songs composed for Vaishali Samant's album titled 'V' and songs for albums WAQT of Sunita Rao.and other albums for Roop Joharie, Shaifqat Ali and Ms Abeer.
ZINDAGI – the HIT Album
Walking through a path of creating sensible music is never a smooth one. It always carries shades of life as its own scenery of experiences, struggles, battle-won and lost, clashes, joys as well as love-trodden and loosen. Life in itself is a great leveler, an institution, a process, a panacea, and what not a passage through a journey which we call 'ZINDAGI'.
