‘Dujone Milbo Aabar’ marks the debut of TV actor Jack in the lead role with Rupsha whom we have seen earlier on screen as Jisshu’s younger sister in ‘Kokhono Biday Bolo Na’.The film is a love story with a tragic twist though it ends on a happy note.
The story is all about how a guy tames a tomboy and makes her fall in love with him though initially he does not reciprocate.
Rajani is a complete tomboy and the daughter of the Municipality Chairman. She knocks down Arjun, a guy from the neighbourhood one day while riding a scooty when Arjun is on his way to appear for an interview. He is unable to go due to the accident. From then Arjun is completely furious with Rajani and she with him because she does not know the meaning of defeat.Arjun desperately needs a job. When Rajani decides to teach Arjun a lesson and gets a ‘verbal’ slap instead from Arjun (there are other incidents as well), she decides to completely change herself in appearance and in personality. The problem is Arjun does not love her and so he decides to lay a down a condition fulfilling which he would accept her.
In the meantime Arjun gets a job and goes away to Midnapore. He doesn’t read of the letters she sends him. She fulfills his condition which he comes to know accidentally on radio. When he comes back home, he sees Rajani with his friend and thinks both his friend and Rajani have betrayed him. He later on comes to know the truth about her going blind and goes to her and accepts her in her present state.
The film would have been worse had it had any other lead pair, but somehow one will manage to see it because of the performances of the lead pair.Rupsha, we have already seen in the film mentioned earlier can act and so can Jack as he is at least a seasoned actor on the small screen. Whether people will accept him on the big screen we don’t know. The songs are not that great.Biswajit Chakrabarty and Kharaj Mukherjee are good in their own ways. Jack though looks completely stiff and out of place in the song and dance numbers specially the first number. It might be because this is something completely new to him and he is doing it for the first time.
