“Dum Maaro Dum” showcases the dark side of Goa, the Drugs nexus which has every now and then tarnished the beauty of Goa. “DMD” is essentially the story of ACP Vishnu Kamath (Abhishek Bachchan) and his crusade against the Drug Mafia lord Lorsa Biscuta (Aditya Pancholi). The strong point of the movie is the crisp screenplay by Shridhar Raghavan, the brilliant execution by Rohan Sippy and the performance by the ensemble star cast of Abhishek Bachchan, Bipasha Basu, Prateik Babbar, Aditya Pancholi and the debutant from South Rana Daggubati. Abhishek Bachchan strikes back with the brilliant portrayal of ACP Vishnu Kamath, his good bad cop act is the highlight of the movie. Bipasha Basu as Zoey is natural and suits the role perfectly. Prateik Babbar as wronged teen character Lorey does an impressive job, with every movie Prateik has grown as an actor. The debutant Rana Daggubati has a brilliant debut as DJ Joki, watch out for this actor in future. Aditya Pancholi as the Drug Lord Lorsa Biscutta is extremely well cast and does a brilliant job. In a nut shell DMD is an extremely stylized movie with right amount of twist and suspense which keeps the audience completely engaged though the pace is slightly slow at times in the second half but the suspense makes up for it. The brilliant cinematography by Amit Roy adds to the required punch. Music by Pritam takes the movie forward. Overall a complete Paisa Vasool film.
