Eesha Koppikar was born in Mumbai (Bombay), India. She was born in the year 1976. She comes form a family full of academics brilliance. She herself completed her degree in Life Sciences in Ruia College, Mumbai.
While she was in college, she did a model shoot for Gautam Rajadhayksha. Modelling assignments soon shot in with this photo shoot. She also appeared for Miss India contest. Though she could not win the crown she walked off taking the "Miss Talent Contest". She then modeled for L'Oreal, Rexona, Camay, Tips & Toes and Coca-Cola. Eesha made her debut with "Kaadhal Kavidai" in Tamil film Industry. Eesha Kopikar was won critical acclaim for her performance in the film and went on to win Filmfare Best Actress Debut Award (Tamil). Her next movie"En Swasa Katre" opposite Arvind Swamy was also in Tamil. The film was a musical hit and a good grosser at the box office. Then Eesha Kopikkar played a cameo role in the film "Jodi" as a prospective bride.
Eesha Kopikar did some minor roles in Bollywood films like "Fiza" and "Pyaar Ishq Aur Mohabbat", Kaante, Plan with Dino Morea. However, she shot into fame only with an item dance in the film "Company" directed by Ram Gopal Verma. Eesha Koppikar was nicknamed "Khallas Girl" after that item dance on the song "Khallas". Eesha Koppikar was nominated for the Filmfare Best Villain Award for her negative role in the film "Qayamat: City Under Threat". Her next film was "Girlfriend", in which Eesha played a role of lesbian woman. Apart from these movies she is also to appear in the lead roles in movies such as Inteqaam, Krishna Cottage, Humraahi and Raakth.
Her next film is Ek Vivaah Aisa Bhi with Rajshri FIlms, starring alongside Sonu Sood. Eesha Koppikar will also be seen in a lead role in the film "Shabri" directed by Ram Gopal Verma. The film is about a woman who is set to become Mumbai's first underworld lord.
