This week another dubbed film in Bengali from Oriya is released.
This tine the director is Umesh Srivastav, and he wants to teach the audience the meaning of “love”. Here a girl sacrifices her life and proves that what love is and so the title of the film is “Ei Ki Bhalobasa”. There is no question mark in the title, so we fail to know whether the director wants any answer from the audience.
The film has a very hackneyed story line set in the background of a village. There is a thakur and he has two sons. The Thakur as he is a good man, he has some opponents in the locality.
The goons of the opponent leader tries to molest a young girl and was saved by one of thakur’s son, Bijoy. Bijoy while saving her falls in love with her. The name of the girls is Puja. Thakur fixes his elder son’s marriage with his friend’s elder daughter. That friend also has a younger daughter and he requests thakur to arrange a marriage of his younger son to his younger daughter Asha.
Bijoy refuses to marry Asha, as he loves Puja. Puja requests Bijoy to marry Asha. Asha comes to thakur’s home and tells him to help her as the local goons kept her brother in their unstordy.
The two brothers went there to fight against those baddies. Asha suddenly comes in their way and gives her life when the baddies tried to kill the thakur.
That is the end of the story. Nothing to rave about. The cast consists of Dheeraj Pandit, Priya, Bandana and Suresh Bhagat.
The music by Prasenjit Chakraborty is very loud and easy to forget.
