  WARNING: I am not a movie buff...Also, I really lack the knowledge needed to critically review a movie...Am just trying to put in words what I felt after watching 'English Vinglish'...So, proceed (read this review) at your own risk...

  Nobel Prize Winner Rosalyn S. Yalow was once quoted saying, ‘The excitement of learning separates youth from old age. As long as you’re learning, you’re not old’.   It is Sridevi's come back movie after 15 years in Hindi Cinema and after 25 years in Tamil Cinema..What a Come Back.. It is the best come back by any individual in any industry in our World

  It was with muted expectations that we went to watch English Vinglish. However, the screenplay and the acting by Sridevi as well as the support cast blew us all away. Brilliant work by all the co-actors and Sridevi was just par-excellence in the movie. Must watch for persons who haven't watched it yet and look forward to an emotional masterpiece. » read more

  After such a long time,
  I got to watch something worthwhile in bollywood.
  First and foremost.. My greatest wishes and congratulations to the marvellous director Gauri Shinde. I admit.. Flawless direction!
  Unlike other bollywood boring motion pictures, here, there's not a single "extra" scene in the movie to distract from story. And I appreciate it very much!
  
  And Ofcourse cant forget to mention..
  The Hero of the movie.. SRIDEVI.
  
  A personal opinion: I feel Sridevi is one of those few multi-talented actresses which have not been properly ... » read more

  Do the people whose first vernacular is English, ever find faults with erroneous English spoken by the people whose mother tongue is not English ? Of course, not so much as of the English-speaking so called elites residing in a country that has gained political freedom for over 65 years, yet has successfully cherished colonial hang-over.   i think english vinglish arise a good concept .i like the movie. one thing i like the most thet in this movie americans are shown normla human beings not like in the hollywood movies.sridevi came with great concept for mother who feel shy in front of others because they can't speak english.i advice everyone to watch movie atleast once. » read more

  A perfect protagonist and superb actors in the supporting roles.
  
  Many of us would be able to relate to the story of 'English Vinglish' as at some point in time in our lives (or for some, even today)we would have teased our parents/ grand parents for their lesser knowledge of this language called 'English'!
