Zooni Ali Beg (Kajol),a blind girl ,going with her friends to Delhi to perform on a platform on a functon for 26th Jan, and there she meets the tourist guide Rehan Quadri(Aamir Khan), Rehan is a flirt type of boy and falls in love with her. Rehan hesitates to accept her as he has his own other life which Zooni doesn't know. A blast occurs and Rehan clothes are found among dead people. What will happen when Zooni comes to know about it? What was the thing Zooni didn't know about Rehan?Will she ever come to know about that? Who did the blast and what was thier motto? This is what forms the main part of the story.
