Fashion is the story of the rise and fall and phoenix like re-birth of India's number one Supermodel.
It is set against the glittering backdrop of the highly glamorous but fiercely ruthless world of haute couture fashion. It's the story of one small town girl with a dream and grit and determination to make it a reality. Meghna Mathur always knew that she was meant to be superbly famous. Super ambitious and bright with stars in her eyes, even as a girl from a small north Indian town with conservative parents - she dared to dream of bright neon lights and the big city.
The world of fashion - the glitzy apparel, the colors, the bling, the make-up... all of these create the fascinating world that Meghna wanted and desired to be a part of. She did not want to compromise on anything in her journey to success and super stardom, as she was out to break the adage - whoever said "intelligent women couldn't be glamorous!"
She reaches the peak of her success and walks the ramps for leading designers across India. The fashion world and wealth lies at her feet - the parties, the brand endorsements, the photographers, the models, the romance and of course - the shows, the shows, the shows! She has got everything. However Meghna slowly and surely starts to pay the price for her fame and her journey to the top.
Her attempt at a comeback was going to be a near impossibility...however she was never someone, who will turn away from a challenge. "Fashion" explores the world of style and glamour through the emotional personal journeys of the key people that make the industry - the dream-weavers of that extensive world of glamour: the models, designers, photographers, businessmen, agencies etc.
It asks the question, in the world of imagemakers - is it possible to conquer it and yet remain true to yourself?
