Silver lining: The only climax has its fire and ice moments but that’s it.
Rehan Khan and Akshay Kapoor are serviceable. Ditto Ms Pani and Ms Sheema. It’s Vinod Khanna and Mahesh Manjrekar you’re worried about. What’s this fine actor doing in a Disco Nagri?
This low-concept hip-hoparama – Fast Forward directed by Zaighan Ali Syed -- is not the kind of product you’d expect from its producer Anjum Rizvi who last year gave you the memorable A Wednesday. This must have been conceived on one of his off days.
It’s actually influenced from the 2004 Hollywood movie You Got Served, where a group of dancers enter a dance contest to achieve their dreams of becoming a famous dance group, but is weakly adapted for Indian consumption.
What many don’t know is that there was another Hollywood movie called Fast Forward released way back in 1985 (directed by Sidney Poitier) which had a similar theme of a group of dancers going to New York city to compete in a major dance competition.
Now for about this movie, better fast forward it and tune it directly to the silver lining “Climax”.
Rating: 2 / 5 (only for dance and ofcourse for the Climax)
