Ferrari Ki Sawaari rating: 0 out of 10(Pratibha Yadav wrote on 06 Jun 2012)

A GLIMPSE ON THE STORY: ‘Ferrari Ki Sawaari’ is a story of a father for whom his child’s dreams are very important and he tries every bit to fulfill it. He wants his child to learn good things in life, but in order to fulfill one of his dreams, he ends up stealing a Ferrari. This leads to several other sequences and tensions. It’s a simple film with funny as well as emotional sequences. It stars Sharman Joshi in the lead and is directed by Rajesh Mapuskar. Will the father-son relationship in the film connect to the audience?

TRAILER: The trailer of the movie is appealing, especially because of its simplicity. It is made focusing on the story of the film, and is a far cry from vulgarity and glamour. Emotions are highlighted, which is one of the plus points of the movie. Dialogues, too, appear to be good. If the movie is equally engaging like its trailer, then it will definitely leave a mark.

Let’s have a look at the music album of the film. The album has only five songs. Since the movie mainly targets children, the songs are decent enough to entertain them.

“AE MERE MANN…” sung by Shyamantan Das is a serene kind of song. Shyamantan sings it really well without losing the innocence of his voice. The music is little loud which sometimes over shadows Shyamantan’s voice. It’s an inspirational song and undoubtedly the best in the album. Will stay for long and can get popular in schools as well.

The song “GOODNIGHT...” by Priyani Vani is simply a lullaby. The voice of Priyani is captivating and complements the music. It’s a perfect and peaceful ‘lori’ for the children.

Here comes the much hyped item song of Vidya Balan “MALA JAU DEY…” for the film. The song is not very dhinchak in nature, but goes well with the plot of the movie. Vidya’s attire is purely Maharashtrian and she looks convincing as a Marathi girl with her dance done to perfection. Vidya had reportedly put in a lot of efforts for the song – trained lavani dancers were called to train her and that dedication and sincerity is visible in the song. MALA JAU DEY may not be a hit like Sheila or Munni but is definitely another achievement in Vidya’s career and will have a future in parties, programmes and not to forget the famous Ganpati festivals of Maharashtra.

“MAARA RE…” This is the most energetic, enthusiastic and endearing song in the album. Sung by Sonu Nigam, Rana Majumdar, Aishwarya Nigam, Ashish the song is a treat to our ears. The song aptly suits the story of the film and is well made. Lyrics are encouraging enough and you will definitely listen to it more than once.
“CHAL GHOOME…” This is basically the title song of the film, the combination of different instruments give a great output here. The music is quite fast paced, but it works well since the song is the car’s introductory song. The lyrics are not impressive, but is surely entertaining. The song may not stay for long but will definitely be liked by children.
The music album of FERRARI KI SAWAARI is plain, simple yet inspiring and appealing. The songs are delightful and each one of them complements the theme of the story. The item number is also decent keeping in mind the target audience of the film. The music will surely be liked by children, as most of the songs are for them. Pritam has done a good job as a music director here.
BOX OFFICE PREDICTIONS….Well, FERRARI KI SAWAARI is not a sensational kind of movie; it’s just a plain, informative and emotional piece of art without much attractions; and thus, it has lesser hopes of scoring very high at the box office.

Two main reasons for its failure can be
    1. These days only ENTERTAINMENT, ENTERTAINMENT and ENTERTAINMENT is noticed!
    2. No popular actor except Sharman Joshi is present; in fact, Sharman himself is making his debut as a solo lead actor.

But FERRARI KI SAWAARI may not tank also, as we should never underestimate children; who knows, they may like the movie a lot! 3 IDIOTS, TAARE ZAMEEN PAR were also informative movies, yet they did well. The only difference was that they had Aamir Khan and here we have Sharman Joshi. We wish all the luck to Sharman Joshi and his film!
