Sharman Joshi who has worked in many films including 3 Idiots (which made him more popular) is making his debut as a lead actor with 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari'.
Shah Rukh Khan was also offered 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' and he had also given his nod but somehow things went in the favour of Sharman Joshi.
Vidya's song 'Mala Jau De' in 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' is choreographed by professional lavani dancers. Even Vidya had undergone special training in Kolhapur, learning the nuances of the dance.
A sequence in 'Ferrari Ki Sawaari' was shot at Lords Stadium, London, showing a match between under-14 players. Instead of shooting with extras or junior artists, they shot with trained cricketers.
Sharman, who plays the role of a single father had to cook breakfast for the family and had to practice making egg omlettes and flipping it over multiple times over 5 days to get it right.
Sharman, who plays a Parsi had his nose accentuated and also Vikram Gaikwad, the makeup artiste popped out his ears and thickened his eyebrows to give him the Parsi look. Sharman also added 10 kilos to get the look, right.
The fisherwomen in the film are all real life Kolis (actual fisherwomen) and not actors. As the movie was shot at real location, they would go home during the break, cook lunch for their husbands and report back for the shoot.
There were rumours that first the script was offered to Aamir Khan, but Aamir clarified that the film was offered to his friend Sharman Joshi, and the moment he heard Sharman was being considered for the film, he refused to listen to the script.
