    Dr.Ashok Basu, a middle aged doctor, finds out a bacteria of a fatal kind of hepatitis in his village Chandipur. He starts his scientific investigation and it reveals that this bacteria has already spread in the drinking water of Bhubanpur area and already taken some lives. In Bhubanpur, there is Puraswar Mandir, a famous religious place and one of the main economic centre of Chandipur village. The sacred water of Tripuraswar mandir is filled with bacteria and an epidermic may occur any time, the doctor confirmed about this. He decides to publish an article on the basis of a laboratory report from Calcutta and contacts with Haridas, the editor of Janabarta, a local newspaper who assures him to publish his article. He starts to write it to make people conscious about the epidemic. Haridas basically wants doctor's daughter Indrani, a teacher and a freelance writer to his newspaper. Ranen Indrani's soulmate, a theatre worker and a bank employee, respects Dr. Basus fight for truth but there is Nishith Gupta the farmer brother of Dr. Basu and local municipality chairman who want to hide this report. There is also Mr. Bhargav. the mandir owner who threats Dr. Basu to stop his fight. They stop the article to be published. Dr. basu calls a meeting to make people aware but they ruin it by local goondas. These people mark Dr. Basu as the enemy of people by various ways. Indrani loses her job and Dr. Basu also loses his job. His landlord requests him to leave his house. Dr. Basu in depression, decides to leave his fight. Dr. Basu's wife Maya and their daughter are full of frustration, when, suddenly, Ramen comes with Biresh (the assistant editor of Janabesta) and informs that they will publish his article in Calcutta newspaper and start a new fight. A procession of people come towards his house, chanting slogans to support him.
