Though Bilash always dreamt of going to the sea for capturing fish, Panchu was scared of this thought and wanted to bind him in house. He wanted to fix a marriage of Bilash & Gardi Panchu (Sandhya roy) They captured fish on Ichamati river but due to reduced number of fishes, they went to Ganga river in Kolkata. There Bilash met Himi (Rama Ganepadhyay) grand daughter of Damini (Sita Mukhopadhyay) to whom they sold the fish.Bilash and Himi loved each other but Panchu didnot agree with the relation.Once, when there won a fix ? condition in Ganga, in a stormy night, Panchu became ill and died. Before his death, he told Bilash to marry Himi and supported him to go to sea. After Panchu's death, Bilash told other people to go to sea. When they all agreed to go to sea wih Bilash, Himi wanted to go with him but Damini made her understand that she wouldnot be happy in her life with Bilash At last, Himi gave her ornaments and money to Bilash and Bilash promised her that he would be back and marry her.
