Director Anurag Kashyap was so impressed with the child prodigy who played the title role, Gattu (Mohamad Samad), he immediately offered him a role in his upcoming film, Minto.
After being premiered at the Children's Festival in Hyderabad, the film was shown at the 62nd Berlin Festival where it got special mention, becoming one of the few Bollywood films to have gained such acclaim.
