    George baker was born on 28th October, 1945 in Assam. He did his B.E. (Civil) from Assam University in 1972. During his school days, he has created record in 100 and 200 meters Back stroke in swimming. He was also a national Boxing Champion. He used to work in Indian Railways till 1972. In 1973, he left his high profile job to start his own business. He is married to actress Arpita Chakraborty.

    George Baker’s magnetic personality , attractive looks has given him an edge over others. He made his debut in director Inder Sen’s Chameli Memsahib in 1979. This became a landmark in his career. Mamta(1982) , Srimati Hansaraj(1989), Rakhter Swad(1993) hae made him more popular in the world of stardom. He is also an active and regular stage artist. In 1974 and 1979, he has produced two plays in All India Radio on the eve of World Theatre Day.

    In 1975, he received Presidents’ award for his role in Chameli Memsaheb . In 1979, he was awarded National prize for the play “Othello”. He was one of the rare actors who had received Cine Award from Assam Government five times in a row (1980-84).

George Baker was born in kolkatta, not assam, in 1942 not 1945, studied in lucknow la-martinere, did his Sr.Cambridge (+2), never did BE or graduation. He is a swimming champion in school, and a boxing champion in school only, He's is actually a powerful man. He's also a very good artist and his acting is par excellence and comparable to Sanjeev Kumar. He did work in railways in assam, in lumding. His marriage to Arpita is his second marriage, he has two children in assam, both boys.
