When a film has a name like Get Together’ it has to be either a full fledged romantic film or a comedy film. It is the former with a bit of comedy, romance and drama thrown in as well about tow childhood sweethearts who get separated and then meet up after years.
Rik works in an ad agency which is owned by his elder brother. One day a girl Diya comes and occupies his room. He is extremely cross and tries to get rid of her. The ad agency loses a very old client during a presentation where Rik makes something happen which makes Diya responsible. She is upset. When Rik goes to Diya‘s house one day, he discovers that she is actually his childhood friend with whom he was very close.
From then on he tries to woo her indirectly though she does not understand anything. Even his brother and sister-in-law are very happy.Rik discovers that Diya has got a boyfriend Ayaan who had stood by her during her hour of need including when her father had passed away.Diya understands that Rik loves her, but she wants to stick by Ayaan as he had stood by her .However Ayaan turns out to be an extremely possessive boyfriend who asks her to quit her job .She refuses to do so and Ayaan is furious. He even hits her once.Diya decides to end their relationship.
On Valentine’s Day which is Diya‘s birthday, he takes her to their school and even shows her a group photograph of them together when they were young. She discovers his real identity.
Rahul and Priyanka are okay though Sumit Sammadar’s pansy act looks forced and put on.Saswata and Mousumi Kar Choudhury are quite good. The plot does not have much if the character of Ayaan was not there. The name is interesting and the two sweethearts do ‘Get2together’ at the end of the film.Sudeshna Roy though is totally wasted.
