Gobinda Das was born in a brahmin family in the last half of the seventeenth century. His elder brother Madhusudan was a peace loving person. The other person in their family was Madhusudan’s wife and unmarried daughter Haima. Gobinda, after passing the highest degree in law received the scholarship from the king for further study in Trilochan Sarbobhowmo’s institution. Madhusudan was very hopeful about his brother’s future but suddenly all hopes of Madhusudan were gone. He came to know that Gobinda Das was neglecting his studies. He was spending his time writing poems and singing. At that time a scholar from the king came to Trilochan Sartobhowmo’s institution to take an examination. He came to know that Gobinda was not only mixing with the lower caste people but also busy in writing unsubstantial poems, so he was thrown out of the institution after being insulted by Trilochan, the king’s scholar and the brahmins. He was driver ? one from his birth place Nadadip. One day Gobinda Das came to Kabir larai, a village. The village head arranged for a debate of poetry. There appeared the opponent poet. Gobinda Das was surprised. He found his adorable ? in that opponent Tulsi ? to him it was Sree Radhika. Tulsi was moved by the songs of Gobinda Das. She couldn’t sing any farther. Gobinda Das was again on the move. Then his partner was Tulsi. They both wrote, composed and sang the song on their way. The king awarded him with pear neck lace. He was given the post of court-poet. But a scandal concramins? his relationship with Tulsi was spread. So one day Tulsi left the shelter of Gobinda Das. On “raash purnima” (full moon in the month of kartik) there was a gathering of Vaishnatrites ?in Vrindaban ?. That day again there was a chance of meeting Tulsi and Gobinda das.
