    One day king Harishchandra unknowingly created problem in the act of devotion of sage Biswamitra. Biswamitra became very angry. He asked Harishchandra for suitable sacrifice. Without thinking anything Harishchandra sacrificed everything to the sage. Biswamitra became astonished. But to examine future he told without donation no sacrifice is fulfilled. Harishchandra again did not think anything and promised to give donation of thousand gold coins. Then Biswamitra told him he had nothing but his wife and son from where he would give the donation, Harishchandra begged for one month time from the sage. Harishchandra left the kingdom and started for Banaras with his wife Saibya and son Rohitaswa. After one month Biswamitra came and demanded the donation of thousand gold coins. Harishchandra stood helpless. Saibya sold herself along with his son to a Brahman and arrange for five hundred gold coins. Then Harishchandra sold himself to a lower caste man. This time not only Biswamitra but the gods were also astonished. But there were still examination left. One day Rohitaswa died from a snake bite. Saibya came to the cremation ground with the dead body of her son. It was a very stunning evening. Harishchandra was performing his own duty in the cremation ground. Listening the crying of Saibya Harishchandra turned and found his wife with the dead body of his own son. Harishchandra was ready to set the fire, but then Biswamitra appeared and brought back Rohitaswa's life. He said there examination was over. Then Harishchandra again became the king, and he lived happily with his wife and son.
