After a long desperate wait during which I re-read the book as many times as possible.. The film finally released. I was obviously booked for the thursday paid preview before the film actually released on Friday. I went all excited and sat through the film all excited. This film seemed different than the others a bit. It sense of romance and humour made me smile here and there and there were also a few laughs. I was enjoying the film till I realized that the film is over and there is still so much I wanted to see.
I thoroughly know the book so I knew exactly what was happening and why. But a freind sitting next to me had millions of questions. And all were logical questions which anyone would expect the film to clear out. But this film failed to do that. I totally understand that a book and a film are two different mediums and thus cannot be compared or treated in the same way. But the purpose of both the mediums is to tell a story at the end of it all... to bring out the characters.. but The Half Blood Prince disappointed me a bit there. Most important characters took a backseat, the important plotlines which lead to understand the next book were missing.. this book was about getting to know all about Tom Riddle.. but the film never reached there. Productionwise the film was better in some places and worse in some. The cabinet catching fire seemed as if the effects were out of some 60s hindi film... the penseive was better done than in the fourth film. Overall a loosely written screenplay.. humour and romance did its bit but it overshadowed everything else which to me seems more important.
I really dont know what to expect from the next film. :(
