    For some bizarre reason, marketers opted to make Clint Eastwood's latest work look like a rejected script to an M. Night Syamalon movie in its trailers. What with its catastrophic events and plot centric imagery, you'd think Eastwood had made a disaster movie rather than what the reality turns out to be. This is a much more thoughtful film about death that examines how living characters deal with the aftereffects.     The design, that 3 unlike people are stroked by death is a great thought to make a movie, and has prospective, but unluckily that prospective doesn't give you an idea about what the whole movie really is.

    None of the 3 story lines are tenuously theatrical or touching and there wasn’t any passion here also. On the whole it's a very quiet film. The instant where Bryce Dallas Howard smashes down didn't make me sense anything at all. The relationship or friendship between her and Matt Damon appears to be a bit dramatic false.     This is a superb movie, for those who have the aptitude and endurance to sit through 2 hrs of discourse, personality driven story lines of 3 people who have life changing experiences. It is also a striking movie visually from the very first scenes of the tsunami to the mountains of Switzerland and the street scenes, housing etc.

    In my opinion I am an agnostic with no faith at all in an eternal life or life after death sort of things, but that does not change the amusement value of this film which I qualified as an investigation of human love, patience, and mercy.

    Hereafter is so far one more Eastwood kind of flick that position as the finest American film because it connects both heart & mind with its story of 3 characters in diverse parts of the world detached from life.

    In Paris, a well-known and brilliant TV reporter Marie (Cecile deFrance) momentarily passes away during a terrible natural tragedy and has a hallucination of what she imagines may be her life after death.
